Let your lawn breathe!

Welcome to www.turfaeration.com.  At this site you can request a free estimate for your turf core aeration service, landscaping needs and lawn care product applications.  Why aerate?  Read on below and click the links above to find out why aerating your lawn is an essential step in the creation of healthy turf that requires less fertilizer, water, and pesticides.

It will cost you less money, time, and effort to have us aerate your lawn  than it would if you were to do the job yourself.   Just renting an aerator will cost you at least $55.00.  If you can get one on the weekend that is.  When you add to that your travel time, gas, loading and unloading the machine, and all of the labor and time involved in the job itself it is easy to see that we're the simple and economical choice for getting the job done.

Simply fill out and submit the free estimate form. The client's property must be located within or close to our service area to be eligible for service.  See the links at the top and bottom of the page for more detailed benefits of core aerating your lawn.

A breath of fresh air for your lawn!

The many benefits of aerating your lawn include:

bullet

Increased oxygen availability to the root system allows increased respiration.

bullet

Decreases thatch.

bullet

The soil structure is improved, allowing better surface water drainage into and through the soil.

bullet

Water is used more efficiently, increasing conservation and decreasing water bill costs.

bullet

Lawn care products such as fertilizers and insecticides travel into the soil more effectively.  This helps reduce the amount of these products needed in the first place and also helps reduce surface runoff of these products into the groundwater system, reducing water pollution.

bullet

The plugs of soil are left on the surface and break down rapidly acting as a topdressing for the turf; covering the surface with a thin layer of soil and helping to reduce thatch build up.

bullet

Some gases in the soil that are a byproduct of cellular and microbiological processes are released.

bullet

A healthy, beautiful lawn.

 A little more technical...

Respiration is the conversion of sugars into energy using oxygen to break and reform chemical bonds.  Grass plants produce sugars through photosynthesis using light energy, water, and carbon dioxide in the chloroplasts of the plant. These sugars are stored and processed in the roots of the plant.  The roots need oxygen to convert the sugars and starches into energy needed for life processes.

Oxygen availability is greatly reduced in compacted soils, waterlogged soils, and soils with poor structure.  Soil compaction is caused by walking on the lawn or any other activity that puts weight on the soil.  Core aeration helps to alleviate this problem. It is best to have your turf aerated twice per year since although very effective, it is not a permanent solution to compaction.  Trails or paths of dead or worn out grass are caused by compaction of the soil.  The air spaces are squeezed out of the soil, making plant growth difficult.
