Yearly Service Overview
The following is an overview of the services that we provide throughout the
year. Please note that if you have requested that chemicals not be applied, they
will not be applied. Services will not be rendered unless requested by the
client. The services listed may not necessarily occur at the time or in the order they are listed
here due to weather or other factors.
March/early April
1. Spring clean-up; start the landscape correctly. Includes thatching, lime,
fertilizer, peat moss, spot and over seeding, pre-emergent weed control, mowing, edging, trimming,
bed renovation, and
clean out and removal of all debris.
2. Property scouting, overview, and recommendations.
3. Soil tests-pH and nutrient analysis.
April-landscape installations and weekly maintenance begin
1. Spring fertilizer and weed control applications (after clean-up).
2. Prune any winter damaged shrubs and evergreens.
3. Grub control application for problem lawns.
4. Spray dormant oil on shrubs.
5. Start weekly maintenance.
May
1. Aerate turf.
2. Fertilize shrubs and small trees.
3. Re-apply pre-emergent crabgrass control (8 weeks after 1st)
4. Scouting for potential or existing problems.
5. Install annuals (impatiens, etc.) after last frost date, May 15th.
June
1. Fertilize turf with organic fertilizer.
2. Set mower higher for heat tolerance.
3. Shrub pruning and trimming.
4. Fungicide application if necessary.
July
1. Trim and prune shrubs.
2. Fertilize and annuals and perennials.
3. Broadleaf weed control application.
4. Fertilize warm-season grasses such as zoysia and St. Augustine’s.
5. Second fungicide application
August
1. Continue scouting.
2. Grub control application now or early September.
3. Enjoy the Gardens!
September
1. Aerate turf.
2. Spot seed and over seed turf.
3. Fertilize shrubs and small trees.
4. Fertilize annuals.
October
1. Final pruning and trimming of shrubs.
2. Fungicide application for turf if necessary.
3. Fall fertilize turf.
4. Begin cleaning leaves on turf weekly.
November
1. Plant bulbs for spring and summer color.
2. Dormant oil spraying of shrubs.
3. Continue weekly leaf clean-up on turf.
4. Fall clean-ups begin after >90% of leaves have fallen.
5. Winterize landscape. Apply anti-transpirants, mulch beds, burlap.
December
1. Finish clean-ups
3. Snow removal season begins.
3. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
